From my former camping car I still have a photovoltaic module. The module PQ50 still has a couple of years. It supplies up to 3A to the starter battery.
Because the car ist not only used for camping the module is not fixed on the car. Therefore it has no influence on the air drag. When it is needed it will be placed on the roof or near the car. There are rubber feet's on the fixing points. Because of the distance to the roof a good back ventilation is possible.
The module almost can't be seen on the roof.
For the charging controller I used a ready-made 4A controller. It is connected with banana plugs directly to the battery (Attention with a fuse but without CAN-bus!)
